Future Forms of Life

(Direct link to YouTube video) David Lance and a small team of digital animators created this short film inspired by the kinetic sculptures called "Strandbeests" of Theo Jansen.

A walking-stick sculpture, aided by a robed figure, mysteriously metamorphoses as it travels through the streets of a European city. The vérité cinematography of odd camera angles and hand-held movement in the live action plates adds believability to the mysterious events.
